Pricing

As an emergency and specialist hospital with a 24-hour operation, our prices are likely different to those offered by your family vet. You can find information about our consultation pricing here.

When your pet has been examined by our team of emergency veterinarians and a decision made about the treatment plan, you will be provided with an estimate for your pet’s care. If at any time, due to a change in condition of your pet, or a change in the treatment plan the cost estimate changes, we will notify you immediately.

Insurance

If you have pet health insurance, please provide our staff with your pet’s insurance policy details upon admission and we can provide you with the information required for your claim to be processed. The submission process may differ depending on your insurance provider and it is important to be mindful that there may be exclusions within your policy, so it is important to understand the details of your cover.

We offer GapOnly, a payment service that works with selected pet insurance brands, so you can access the benefit right away for eligible expenses and only pay the gap. To check to see if your insurance provider is partnered with GapOnly® please visit their website. Please be aware that a GapOnly® claim can only be processed during their opening hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 10:00pm Saturday 8:00am – 5:00pm (AEST or AEDT as applicable, excluding NSW public holidays)

Payment

Payment is required in full for every patient when they are discharged. If your pet requires only a consultation, payment will be required after the consultation. If your pet is admitted into hospital, payment is required when they are discharged from the hospital. If your pet is admitted to the hospital for diagnostic tests or treatment, we will require 50% of the estimated treatment cost to be paid as a deposit.

We understand that the cost of veterinary care is often unexpected and can be stressful, even more so with emergency care. For this reason we offer a number of different payment and finance options to suit you and your circumstances.  Payment can be made via VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Eftpos, Cash, direct deposit.

We work with several finance providers, outlined below, that enable you to spread the cost of your pet’s care out over time. Unfortunately, we do not provide in house payment agreements.

Finance options

Finance options enable you to spread the cost your pets care over time. Different providers may offer a product that is more suitable for your needs. We are currently able to offer plans through VetPay, Zip and Afterpay.

VetPay is a veterinary specific financing company. VetPay allows you pay for your pet’s treatment over a specified period of time. You will be required to pay an initial deposit to us, and then once your pet is discharged we will process the final part of the VetPay application. From there VetPay will direct debit the fortnightly repayments from your nominated bank account. Visit the VetPay website for more information and to apply for VetPay online.

We offer both Zip Pay (for treatments up to $1,000) and Zip Money (for treatments over $1,000). Visit the Zip website for more information and to apply for Zip Pay or Zip Money. Upon application please select “Queensland Veterinary Specialists” as the store name. Once you have been approved for your Zip account, the app can be downloaded and used to finalise your account upon discharge. Should you not have the app available, please speak to our client services team and they will be able to complete the process manually.

Afterpay offers clients the option of being able to pay only 25% of the bill at the point of discharge with the remaining balance being paid in 3 additional instalments over a 6 week period with no interest. Spend limits at Afterpay vary based on your application however, they typically start at $600. Once your application has been approved, you can download the app and use your Afterpay card to pay your account directly upon discharge. Visit the Afterpay website to apply now and for more information.
